Application Requirements

In addition to the University’s minimum requirements, applicants must meet the following admissions requirements:

Application

Applications must be completed by the deadline for the quarter you wish to begin the program. Please view the “How To Apply” page for the link to the application.

Winter 2026 Classes Begin November 9, 2026 Application Opens July 14, 2026 Application Deadline October 23, 2026

Spring 2027 Classes Begin February 22, 2027 Application Opens August 10, 2026 Application Deadline January 29, 2027

Education

  • Graduate (masters or doctoral) degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution of higher education completed prior to application.
  • Have graduated from an accredited advanced practice nursing degree program preparing Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA), Nurse Practitioners, or other qualified Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN).

Transcripts

  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended, even if a degree was not awarded or expected. They must be sent directly from the institution to grad.admissions@rosalindfranklin.edu. Electronic transcript services (such as Parchment or the National Student Clearinghouse) are preferred. If an electronic option is not available, unopened official transcripts can be sent via mail to:

Prerequisites

  • Applicants must have completed three separate comprehensive graduate-level APRN Core courses in:
    • Advanced physiology/pathophysiology, including general principles that apply across the life span
    • Advanced health assessment, which includes assessment of all human systems, advanced assessment techniques, concepts, and approaches
    • Advanced pharmacology, which includes pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacotherapeutics of all broad categories of agents.
  • Applicants who are missing any of these three courses may take them at RFU or another accredited university.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1-year of full-time experience, or its part-time equivalent, as an APRN in an acute care setting.

Licensure

  • Current unencumbered license as a registered nurse and APRN in the United States, its territories or protectorates.

Resume or Curriculum Vitae

  • A curriculum vitae (CV) is required as part of the NursingCAS application.

RFU Nurse Anesthesia Students enrolled in good standing within the Nurse Anesthesia (NA) Program, or a student enrolled at another accredited NA program who has the ability to complete clinical residency rotations at RFU approved sites, may enroll in the PGC-AGACNP program; however, the PGC credential may not be earned until the student has earned their graduate degree.
