Naglaa Elskenidy, PT, MS, DSc

Dr. Naglaa Elskenidy is an Assistant Professor in the College of Health Professions, Department of Physical Therapy, where she has served since 2020. She earned her Doctor of Science (DSc) with a focus on electromyography (EMG) in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome.
In the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program, Dr. Elskenidy coordinates the Introduction to Movement and Clinical Physiology courses and contributes extensively to the Clinical Skills series. She leads the electrotherapy module in Clinical Skills IV, coordinates Clinical Skills VII, and teaches EMG content within the Neurological Clinical Medicine and Pharmacology course.
With more than 35 years of outpatient clinical experience, Dr. Elskenidy brings a strong clinical perspective to her teaching. Her expertise spans orthopedic and geriatric rehabilitation, with a specialized focus on vestibular rehabilitation. She regularly treats patients with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), Ménière’s disease, and other balance and dizziness disorders.
Dr. Elskenidy is also actively involved in continuing education, providing courses for practicing physical therapists in areas such as vestibular and balance disorders, gait training, osteoarthritis, fitness, and introductory EMG.

- Knowledge and applications of Clinical Electrophysiology in physical therapy
- Clinical electrophysiology competency, teaching and learning methods in entry level DPT programs and their impact on the clinical applications in PT
- The use of the artificial intelligence and competency based frameworks in Doctor of Physical Therapy education, and their impact on teaching effectiveness, student learning outcomes, research productivity, and administrative processes.
